Cocoa Beach, Florida

The City of Cocoa Beach is one of a kind place! Located on a barrier island, with the Atlantic Ocean on the East and the Banana River Lagoon on the West, it´s just six miles long and mostly less than a mile wide. The primary attraction to Cocoa Beach is the weather. With its coastal location and positioned on the border of the sub-tropic and temperate climatic zones, the weather is usually mild by most standards.

Best known as the surfing capital of the East Coast, Cocoa Beach is the hometown of Ron Jon Surf Shop along with many surfing champions. If you´re not into surfing, where else can you enjoy a day at the beach where you may see dolphins at play, an occasional whale in migration or possibly even watch a space launch from the Kennedy Space Center a few miles away?

If you don´t want to spend every day at the beach, you can play a round of golf at the 27-hole golf course, or explore the Banana River islands by boat or kayak from the river shoreline. This unique area attracts coastal and migratory wildlife from both climatic zones.  You won´t be surprised to learn Cocoa Beach´s weather, beaches and local amenities attract a lot of winter visitors from the northeast and Midwest. Many of the city´s residents first experienced Cocoa Beach as visitors and eventually decided to call it home! Cocoa Beach is a residential community as well as a tourist destination.

 The base population is approximately 12,800, which swells to as high as 30,000 during the peak tourist season when the hotels, motels, timeshares and condominium rentals are filled. In addition, Cocoa Beach is the destination for another 2.4 million day visitors per year; it is the primary tourist destination on the Florida Space Coast. The casual beach lifestyle is enjoyed by visitors and residents alike!
