The city features 3 championship golf courses as well as numerous parks and more than 40 indoor recreational facilities.  The beaches of Brevard County have a claim to fame: they are the largest sea turtle nesting grounds in the country. As many as 6,000 loggerhead, green sea and leatherback turtles come ashore to nest beginning in May and hatching continues until late October
